Training

Kim on DiabloOver the last 15 years we have had between 1 and 5 foals born per year. Some of them we have kept as our personal horses, some became lease horses, some we sold (most to leasees that fell in love with them as a result of LEASING), and the rest we kept as brood mares. Kim has trained all of these horses. 

Kim has been training horses for 20+ years now. She has also trained or retrained horses we have purchased or acquired including problem horses. From the beginning, her approach has always been to use trust and take a slow, calm and gentle approach to training techniques similar to those made Training horses at the Sanders Ranchpopular by the Horse Whisperer. She has attended many seminars on training, reads extensively and continues to learn more every day with each different challenge. She is certified in all available advanced courses offered by New Horizons Equine Education Center.

She trains all our horses, which she finds to be the easiest to train because they bond with her sometimes even before their mother, so there is that natural trust from day one. She also trains and fixes problems with our clients' horses. We do not bring in any horses to train from outside The Ranch just as we do not bring in the general public for lessons. We wish to keep the number of clients low.
